Description
Longan is an evergreen tree, common in China, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and Indonesia, as well as its fruit. The height of the tree can reach from ten to twenty meters. The harvest season lasts from June to August.
The name of the fruit is translated from Vietnamese as Dragon Eye.
These light brown balls, the size of a small walnut, are sold in brooms, like bunches of grapes. The color of the shell ranges from brown to yellowish-red. The skin of longan is thin and dense, easy to peel off, bursting when bitten.
The flesh of the fruit is translucent, white or pinkish. Very juicy, has a sweet, very aromatic taste, with a distinct taste of musk.
