Description
Vietnamese OPA black tea is the large leaf standard. The large-leaf analogue of the Indian "Assam" comes from Vietnam. Tea of this standard is brewed softly, without astringency, and has a classic for this type of easily recognizable nutmeg-floral flavor on the palate.
Vietnam has been cultivating tea for a long time, and its heyday came at the end of the 19th century, and now tea from the “country of golden forests and silvery seas” occupies a very significant share in the world export of this drink. By 2016, this country produced 240 thousand tons per year, and now this number has more than doubled and is rapidly catching up with Ceylon tea.
Due to the natural lack of astringency, Vietnamese tea is always perfectly brewed without any additional effort. A recommendation for brewing is 5-6 grams of tea per 0.5 liter of water. The temperature can vary from 90 to 100 degrees, and the extraction time from 3 to 7 minutes - even with such a long infusion, the drink will not be bitter.
