Description
Chili de Arbol (Spanish for chili tree) is a small and powerful Mexican chili pepper, also known as bird's beak chili and rat's tail chili.
Peppers have a length of 5 to 7.5 cm and a diameter of 0.65 to 1 cm. The sharpness on the Scoville scale is from 15,000 to 30,000 units.
Peppers begin to turn green and turn bright red as they ripen. Chilli de Arbol can be used fresh, dried or powdered.
Like dried chilies, they are often used for garnishing as they do not lose their red color when dried.
